Swollen Gums Isn't The Only Gum Disease Indication
Gingivitis is the earliest and the mildest form of gum disease which is being indicated by red, tender and swollen gums. Gums may bleed easily during brushing and flossing, gums do not bleed easily when its healthy. Gingivitis is not usually painful thus resulting to neglecting it until it can progress to more serious condition, periodontitis. Periodontitis is the advance stage of gum disease and it may require gum disease treatment. Treatment may range from non- surgical to surgical treatment depending on its severity.
When any difference noticed in the way your mouth feels and appear, gum disease may be taking its toll and it should be taken seriously and given attention. It is best to seek a dental health care professional for proper diagnosis and treatment. Proper oral care should be observed too for it is the best and effective way in preventing harmful bacteria to live in the mouth.
